Troy cop retires after indictment

TROY - A Troy police officer indicted last week has retired.

A police spokesperson tells NewsChannel 13 John Comitale filed his papers on Friday.

He was named in an indictment last week, along with Ronald Epstein. Prosecutors say the officers made a search without a warrant, and then tried to cover it up. Both men pleaded not guilty.

Attorneys for the officers claim the district attorney has an agenda against the men.
