Police: Cocaine, $14k, seized in drug bust

Troy police say they've made a drug bust and seized $14,000 in cash.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 plainclothes officers were watching an area that has had several complaints about drug activity.

Officers say 13 they spotted Patrick Simpson commit a violation and started talking to him.

During the investigation, they say they found crack cocaine and a large amount of cash. They continued investigating and say they found even more drugs and more cash.

In all, police say they discovered nearly 14 grams of crack cocaine and more than $14,000 in cash on him.

Simpson is now in the Rensselaer County Jail.
