COLONIE - A van crashed on Central Avenue in Colonie on Sunday, killing the driver and injuring the two passengers. That van, was reported stolen from a pastor who lives in Schenectady.

This story just keeps getting more bizarre. Pastor Dwight Moore says when he watched the news video Sunday after church, he knew it was his van, even with the same license plate. It was just sitting on its roof.

The 2004 Ford Freestar minivan was reported stolen a week, almost to the hour, before it crashed on Central Avenue. The driver died on scene. The two passengers were ejected and taken to the hospital in serious condition. Schenectady County Sheriff deputies had tried to stop the car.

Pastor Dwight Moore of Clifton Park Assembly of God told NewsChannel 13 last week his van had 211,000 miles on it when it was taken. He said he felt sick to his stomach when he found out what happened and started to pray for the people who were in his car when it crashed.

"That was the first time I just felt sick to my stomach," he admitted. "It’s one thing to lose a car, but some family lost their child and we don’t really know anything about the person yet, but somebody’s brother, somebody’s son, somebody who somebody loved. I can’t imagine what they’re going through right now.

The family's 2008 Honda CRV was also stolen last Sunday. Schenectady Police say they're investigating. Colonie Police are working on getting NewsChannel 13 more information about Sunday's crash.
