Nursing home resident dies after being thrown from wheelchair

Police say a resident of the Warren Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing died after being thrown from his wheelchair while in a nursing home van that was taking him to Glens Falls Hospital.

According to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Post Star, the incident happened on Main Street in Queensbury Friday evening.

The Warren County Sheriff says the man was thrown from the chair after the van was cut off by another car and had to swerve. The sheriff says the chair was secured to the van, but the man was not secured to the chair.

His name has not been released. No charges have been filed, but the incident is still under investigation.
