Father and son arrested in Colonie pawn shop raid

COLONIE - A pawn shop is raided in Colonie now a father and son who own the business are facing charges.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 they started investigating the trafficking of stolen property in town back in April. It led them to Xchange Cash and Trade on Central Avenue.

Authorities say they used surveillance and undercover operatives to make sales of supposed stolen property at the business. In some cases, the merchandise still had security tags on it.

This week, police executed search warrants at the business.

Gregory and Evangelos Fanos are accused of buying the stolen property.

More charges are possible.
