ALBANY, N.Y. - Challenging Governor Andrew Cuomo on his quest for a third term, the "Sex and the City" star, Cynthia Nixon declared in a two minute video that she wants to fix healthcare, end mass incarceration and repair New York's struggling subway system.

"I love New York, I've never wanted to live anywhere else but something has to change," Nixon said in the video.

In a Siena College poll released Monday morning, Governor Cuomo is overwhelmingly preferred over Democrat Nixon and Republicans Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Senator John DeFransicso.

However, the Governor's favorability has dropped for a second month this year from 62% in January to 52% in March.

"We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us, it can't be business as usual anymore," Nixon said.

For now, many Dems remain silent on a position but there are groups that openly welcome a challenge to the Governor's current policies like Empire State Indivisible who say:

"Crucial legislation like the RHA, CCCA, GENDA, the NY Dream Act, and major ethics, voting, and campaign reforms should have already been passed into law…Instead, we wait for Governor Cuomo's next gaffe, meltdown, or power play."

Defeated in the primaries, four years ago, former Gubernetorial candidate Zephyr  Teachout called Nixon "fearless" and "strong." She joins the Nixon campaign as treasurer.
