SARATOGA SPRINGS – The new mayor of Saratoga Springs will be Democrat Meg Kelly.

Kelly defeated Republican Mark Baker with 54 percent of the vote. She's currently the deputy mayor under Joanne Yepsen, who decided not to run for another term.

Saratoga Springs voters also had an important question to answer on Proposition One. It’s close but right now, the “yes” votes lead by 48 votes. If that outcome holds, city hall will change to a city manager form of government to help run things for the mayor and city council. There are nearly 500 absentee ballots to be counted.
