Lopez leaving state Assembly for EPA

State Assemblyman Pete Lopez is leaving New York state government. He's been appointed the Environmental Protection Agency’s regional administrator for Region 2.

Lopez will oversee environmental protection efforts in New York, New Jersey as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, which are recovering from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

As an Assemblyman, Lopez represented communities in six counties, including Schoharie and Greene Counties.
