Four communities in the Capital Region are getting some help with their infields. It's the Tri-City ValleyCats "4-in-24" renovation program.

The four leagues are the American Little League in Albany, Cairo-Durham Little League, Scotia-Glenville Girls Softball and Round Lake Malta Youth Baseball.

The program is a partnership with the ValleyCats, BlueShield of Northeastern New York and Hannaford Supermarkets.

Workers are improving the playing surfaces while also upgrading the bases, home plates and pitcher's mounds.

The hope is a new field and renewed interest will bring more kids out to play the game and improve community involvement.
