The Lake Placid native says Sunday’s honor holds special significance.

“I think of what I do as what I do,” he said. “To have the town come forward and really recognize that in a formal way is really special to me and a great honor.”

NewsChannel 13 sat down with Weibrecht at the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, which his family owns. We talked about his hopes for the 2018 Olympics Games and will be sharing more of his story leading up to and during the games.
