More than 50 Capital Region scientists took part at 17 local bars this week. Dan Moriarty was at Brown's in Troy. The chemistry teacher says many people are intimidated by science.

“We wanted to have a chance to talk to people in very general ways and see if they have any questions about science,” he said. “We’re here to answer them for you, and there’s no better way to do it than over a pint of beer.”

Moriarty said many people were asking about climate change. He said he expects more events like this in the future.
