Amsterdam woman accused of stealing $5,770 in illegal benefits

An Amsterdam woman is accused of lying on SNAP benefit applications, and collecting $5,770.

Deiska Rivera, 41, didn’t disclose all people residing in her household on an applications, and their income earned, investigators said.

This resulted in her getting benefits she was not entitled to, investigators said.

Rivera was charged with welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing. She was held pending arraignment.
