Skidmore faculty rally over contract dispute
Faculty members at Skidmore College are demanding the college negotiate towards a fair contract.
Members of Skidmore Faculty Forward and the local service employees union-rallied on campus on Friday.
Skidmore Faculty Forward represents the non-tenured track employees at the school.
Many of them work in administration, run programs and departments, and work closely with students, according to the union.
After nearly two years of negotiations, the Skidmore administration is stalling on several of its core demands, the union said.
Those demands include regular salary increases that reflect the cost of living in Saratoga Springs, they said.
NewsChannel 13 reached out to Skidmore College for a response to the union rally and have not yet heard back. When we do, we will let you know.
