Students in the Pay It Forward club at Menands Elementary School recently made blankets for cats at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

The students visited the shelter and read books to several cats and guinea pigs living there.

The club advisor says it was a great opportunity for the students to learn about the shelter, and give back.
