ALBANY - Around the same time NewsChannel 13 launched #ColdCase13 - our series profiling unsolved crimes in the Capital Region, the College of Saint Rose was expanding its criminal justice program to include a Cold Case Analysis Center.

These cold cases include lots of paperwork, including countless interviews, notes, diagrams, and photos. As years go by - and officers retire - it can be tough for newer recruits to grasp every detail.

That's where this center comes in.

The students don't stop there. Born of their own curiosity, they go to libraries and halls of records to look for anything historical that might give additional context or clues to what's in the file.

Every now and then, they stumble upon something - which could mean nothing - or everything - to cracking a case.

Learn more about how all of it's really helping law enforcement, by watching the video of Jerry Gretzinger's story.
