ALBANY - There's movement on bail reform at the state Capitol. The Democratic leader of the Senate says she's open to change, but it could be a different story in the Assembly.

There are now signs that lawmakers are getting the message.

The latest bail reform proposal comes after several weeks of private meetings with law enforcement officials.

The plan being pushed by Senate Democrats calls for the complete elimination of cash bail while allowing judges more discretion.

Hear more about the proposal – and whether lawmakers on both sides think a middle ground can be reached, by watching the video of Dan Levy's story.
