Primary Day is June 23.

Albany County District Attorney David Soares is seeking his fifth term in office. His supporters include Albany Sheriff Craig Apple and Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan on Friday threw her support behind the Democratic challenger, Matt Toporowski. He has been endorsed by Senator Bernie Sanders and singer John Legend.

The mayor was joined by members of the county Legislature outside of City Hall, to officially endorse Toporowski.

NewsChannel 13 reached out to Soares, but did not hear back.
