Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is responding to charges her administration created an "ominous and foreboding" crisis in the city. Those charges come from social justice activists still fuming over the city's actions during a series of recent protests and riots.
Social justice activists have called out the mayor, accusing her of being blind to systemic racism that they believe the Arch Street incident illustrated.
The message from Mayor Sheehan is that change is coming to the Albany Police Department, which she stresses is already one of the top departments anywhere in the state.
