Albany police investigating multiple shootings

Albany police are investigating four separate shootings that happened within hours of each other Tuesday.

Two victims walked into Albany Medical Center just before 8 p.m. Monday.


A 44-year-old man was shot in the area of Robin and Sherman Street. He has a serious gunshot wound in the abdomen and is listed in critical condition.

The second victim, a 43-year-old man, was shot in the leg and torso in the area of Livingston Avenue and Thornton Street. His injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Around 9:30 p.m., Albany Medical Center informed police that a 26-year-old man had entered the emergency room. He had been shot in the foot in the area of Bleecker Terrace.

Police responded to a fourth shooting around 10:30 p.m. Monday. It happened in the area of 1st Street and Lexington Avenue. A 28-year-old man had been shot in the abdomen. Emergency crews transported the man to Albany Medical Center, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.  

All four shootings are under investigation. At this time, police do not know if the shootings are connected.
