Albany’s Episcopal Bishop William Love appeared in front of a disciplinary board to explain his opposition to gay marriage in a virtual hearing Friday.

This comes after the bishop refused to follow a Church resolution that ordered him to not impede same-sex marriages.

In Bishop Love’s 2018 letter he says gay relationships were not in God’s plan and priests in the Albany Diocese would be punished if they attend or participate in any same-sex ceremony.
