A motorcycle crash in Colonie is under investigation – and police have not ruled out driver impairment as a cause.

Colonie police say it happened around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday at the roundabout at Albany Shaker and Maxwell roads. They say the motorcyclist — 25-year-old Christopher Reed of Ballston Spa — was speeding when he went over the double yellow line to pass a car. Police say he then struck the central island of the roundabout, throwing him off the bike.

Reed is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.

Police discovered he has 13 suspension on his license.
