Colonie police make arrest in Motel 6 homicide investigation

COLONIE- Colonie police have made an arrest in connection to the homicide that happened May 11 at the Curry Road Motel 6.

Paul Streeks, 23, of Schenectady is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Felony) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (Felony).  

Due to the investigation being ongoing, police cannot release any further details regarding the incident and describe Streeks involvement in the incident at this time.

Streeks was arrainged in the Town of Colonie Justice Court, transferred to the Albany County Correctional Facility and pending a preliminary hearing on May 20.

Police say 20-year-old Xiaa Price was shot and died at the scene. They say it happened around 1:45 a.m.

This was initially reported to police as a car accident. Police tell NewsChannel 13 they believe there was some kind of interaction between the Price and the suspect, or suspects, and that he was shot while trying to flee in his car, causing him to crash that vehicle into the motel.
