Police identify Quail Street shooting victim

Albany police have released the name of the 18-year-old victim who was shot and killed Saturday night in the area of Quail and First streets. Police have identified the victim as Zy-Quaveone Mayo of Albany.

Three other people were shot, but are expected to live.

DIGITAL EXTRA: Surveillance video of Albany shooting

Police responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dozens of evidence markers could be seen along Quail Street between First and Clinton streets. A witness on scene said those markers appeared to be counting all the shell casings involved in the shooting.

Pastor Charlie Muller runs the Victory Christian Church in that neighborhood. He has surveillance cameras set up on his building and watches the criminal activity. He’s begging Albany police to station an officer in his neighborhood.

"In our JC Club. Put them in the office. Put them here as an out-station to police this target area," Muller said.
