Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was in town Friday, fighting to bring clean energy and renewable offshore wind jobs to New York.

Gillibrand was joined by Congressman Paul Tonko at the Port of Albany to introduce their “Restoring Offshore Wind Opportunities Act.” It would reverse the Trump-era ban on offshore wind leasing. It will also help the Port of Albany’s offshore wind tower manufacturing port project create hundreds of construction and manufacturing jobs.

Gillibrand says the industry will generate clean and reliable electricity to power 10 million homes, and create 77,000 union jobs.
