Glenmont fire sends one to hospital, destroys home

GLENMONT- A home in Albany County is destroyed by a fire Saturday night.

The flames broke out before midnight inside a home on Kenwood Avenue.

Bethlehem police say the house was fully engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived. 

The two people inside had gotten outside. One of them, Bob Salisbury, was taken to the burn center at Westchester Medical Center for smoke inhalation and a gash to his arm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but detectives say it does not appear suspicious. 

Multiple fire departments such as included Elsmere FD, Delmar FD, Selkirk FD, Slingerlands FD, North Bethlehem FD and Onesquethaw FD assisted. Albany County Sheriff Paramedics and Delmar-Bethlehem EMS were also on scene.
