A man from Maine faces at least 10 years and up to life in prison for trying to have sex with a person he thought was a local child.
The U.S. Attorney's office says 58-year-old Jay Scott Cloutier pleaded guilty and was arrested after driving to Colonie for a meeting, but never actually communicated with a child.
He had been sending explicit text messages to an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old child.
Cloutier also admitted to soliciting and receiving explicit images from a 17-year-old child and a 15-year-old child.
