ALBANY - The pandemic forced many couples to postpone their wedding plans.

As everyone tries to figure out the future, the newly renovated Kenmore Ballroom in Albany was hosting its first wedding Thursday.

Back in the 1920s, this was the spot big names like Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, and Sophie Tucker appeared.

They would come to Rain-Bo Room at the Kenmore Hotel.

A new grand staircase has been put in, but you still get the classic old time feel of the Rain-Bo Room.

Redburn Development spent $25 million renovating the ballroom and building 93 apartments upstairs, most of which have already been rented out.

They were supposed to open the space back in April, but the pandemic pushed it back.

Right now, they can only host events with up to 50 people, but the ballroom can normally accommodate 300 people seated.

Hear from the beaming owner and operator about how excited she is to open by watching the video of Emily DeVito's story.
