A man is accused of trying to escape from Albany County Jail.

Sheriff Craig Apple said Thursday Kristopher Castanon, who was in custody on a murder charge, tried to escape while he was at Albany Medical Center for treatment.

The sheriff says Castanon ran out of a bathroom in the hospital and headed towards the exit but corrections officers were able to grab him before he got away.
