The Legislature is back in session in Albany and with it comes some new faces representing our region.

One of those is Michelle Hinchey representing the 46th District with all of Greene and Montgomery counties and parts of Albany, and Schenectady counties.

It's a large district with both cities and rural communities.

Hinchey was just named chair of the Agriculture Committee. She says she'll be focusing on aid to family farms and strengthening the connection between farms and food banks.

Senator Hinchey also encourages business owners in her district to call her office for help in connecting with state programs to help small business.

Hear her thoughts on joining a more diverse looking Senate and being the youngest member representing an upstate district by watching the video.
