The College of Saint Rose is moving to all-remote learning Tuesday.

College officials made the decision after positive cases popped up on campus. Saint Rose was originally planning to go remote after Thanksgiving.

The college says the decision is proactive, with positive cases climbing in the Albany area. The college has only reported 17 positive cases since the start of the fall semester.

The president says all in-person events or meetings have been canceled for the remainder of the fall semester. Monday will be the last day for sports teams to practice.

Students can stay in their residence halls until Nov. 25, but can leave earlier if they wish to.  The college says it will also help students who want to be tested before leaving for Thanksgiving.

In terms of the spring semester, Saint Rose will start a week later. Classes will begin on January 19.
