Albany police are now investigating a Wednesday night shooting on First Street as a homicide. 

NewsChannel 13 first reported about the shooting on Live at 11.

Officers say 37-year-old Jimmy Moore was shot on First Street, near Lexington Avenue, just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Emergency crews transported Moore to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039, or submit an anonymous tip to Capital Region Crime Stoppers.
