State Police Troop G names new commander

Captain Christopher West of the New York State Police has been appointed commander of Troop G in Latham.

Captain West is a native of Albany who now lives in Colonie.


He entered the State Police Academy in 1990, and served in Troop G and Troop K.

He replaces Major Robert Patnaude who was promoted to the rank of staff inspector and assigned to field command.
