LATHAM - Colonie police arrested a teacher for possessing child pornography and an illegal weapon Thursday.

Police arrested 26-year-old Sean Miller of Latham.

Miller worked as a teacher at the Warren Street Academy in Hudson, New York.

Police received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Colonie Police and the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant on Miller’s home Thursday.

After searching his home, Colonie police said Miller had sent child pornography. Police also found an illegal assault weapon.

Police do not believe that any of the victims are local. However, due to the nature of the crime, Colonie police are asking that anyone with any information contact them.

Miller was arraigned and later released.
