Teen recovering from injuries after shooting on First Street

Albany police are investigating a Friday night shooting.

At approximately 10:05 p.m. staff from Albany Medical Center notified police that a 16-year-old male entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the hand.


Upon arrival, the victim told officers that he was shot by an unknown suspect while he was walking on First Street between North Lake Avenue and Quail Street.

The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

At this time the incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Albany Police Detective Division at 518-462-8039.
