TROY - A water main break has shut down part of a road in South Troy Monday.
Crews have closed 1st Street between Van Buren and Main Street, near the South Troy Diner and Rensselaer County Jail.
A boil water advisory has not been issued, but some people may experience fluctuations in water pressure, discolored water or temporary loss of water service.
One man told NewsChannel 13 the water went out Sunday night around 7:30 p.m. He had a slow trickle of water back by late Monday afternoon.
People living in nearby Menands are being asked to use water sparingly to maintain water levels.
There is still no timeline on when water will be restored. However, once it is, residents are advised to run their cold water for five to 10 minutes until it's clear.
