GlobalFoundries to expand Malta complex

MALTA – GlobalFoundries is set to expand its computer chip manufacturing complex in Malta.

NewsChannel 13 has learned the company will make the announcement next week.

For years, there has been speculation a second factory would be built at the Luther Forest site.

GlobalFoundries makes chips for companies who design smartphones, computers, vehicles and more.

Congress is considering setting aside $52 billion for semiconductor research and manufacturing to meet an increased demand, and
