LILLINGTON, N.C. – A small North Carolina diner, Highway 55 Restaurant, has some much-needed help. It's a robot that serves customers at a time when it's hard to hire help.
"Servi" costs just under a $1,000 a month, including installation and support.
Restaurant owner Alex Ramos brought in the robot, made by a company called Bear Robotics, for a trial run.
The robot is programmed to deliver food from the kitchen to every table in the restaurant.
It’s equipped with sensors so that it will not bump into anyone.
The owner said he is trying it out and likes what he sees. He said he might use them in other restaurants that he owns.
