PHOENIX, Ariz. - In an effort to shore up security, Park Central Mall in Arizona has added a robot to their team. It’s a sign of a new trend as companies work to put more boots or wheels rather on the ground.
"Parker," as he's called, patrols 24/7.
The robot has 360-degree cameras, thermal vision, two-way communication, license plate recognition, and even device recognition.
Parker constantly sends video, audio, and other data back to a control room where humans determine the best course of action.
Before you start to worry that machines are taking over, humans will still play a vital part in Parker's operation, and in mall security.
