Drinking green tea may help prevent cancer.

Researchers at RPI in Troy discovered a direct link between a cancer fighting protein in our bodies called p53 and an antioxidant found in green tea.

They say that anti-oxidant, called EGCG can increase p53 levels.

They hope this discovery can lead to new cancer fighting drugs.

The study was published Friday in the journal "Nature Communications."
