If you talk to Amanda Devito-Trinsey, she would tell you she didn't foresee herself as a defender of Lady Justice.

She planned to be on the world stage as a professional dancer.

However, an internship at the Albany law firm Couch White changed her mind.

Energy law, an area not flush with female lawyers, is what she chose.

As an energy lawyer, she makes sure costs are balanced and reasonable for customers.

In her 10 short years, she has moved up the ladder quickly, becoming a partner, fighting to pull more women into her specialty, and receiving accolades, most recently recognition as a 40-under-40, meaning she's among some of the most successful young leaders in the area.

She's also a kidney transplant recipient, and is part of a support group to help others who want kids following transplant surgery.

Learn more about that by watching the video of Elaine Houston's story.
