During this pandemic, we are finding out how important a connection to others really is. That is illustrated by the extraordinary efforts made by one woman to make sure her students are doing okay in this time of coronavirus.
For Bridget Holmes, the family connection is everything - so much so that during this pandemic, her husband and four kids still hold a family get together. There's laughter and fellowship - even if it has to be remotely.
You can just imagine how awful it's been for Holmes - a traveling resource teacher with the Saratoga Springs City School District, to be away from her students.
Sure, they have remote learning, but it's not the same.
So Holmes started making care packets and gift baskets - and the Duanesburg mom has been driving to her students' homes - and dropping them off - all while social distancing.
For Holmes, family is everything -and her students are like her family - and this mom, former military wife, and breast cancer survivor shows she'll do just about anything to keep the family together.
