As the Director of Disaster and Community Services for Catholic Charities, Wilhelmina Murray-Davis has witnessed what happens to people following a major disaster.

They can be angry, numb, and hungry. The pandemic she says has triggered the latest disaster and left many people facing food shortages. So a Catholic Charities RV travels to 14 counties in upstate, NY dropping off food but also trying to help lift people up out of poverty through resume and job searching help.

Murray-Davis says one of the unfortunate things society has done is stigmatize those needing food stamps she makes it her mission to reach those who are hungry, including those who are working but not earning a living wage.

Learn more about how her real-life experience helps her better relate to the people she assists by watching the video of Elaine Houston's story.
