Full-flower cannabis legally available for first time in NY
GUILDERLAND – For the first time, New Yorkers can now purchase full-flower cannabis at their local dispensaries.
It’s a significant breakthrough in the state’s medical marijuana industry.
It’s also significant for the 150,000 New Yorkers who are already registered and who have already acquired medical marijuana cards from the state.
New York is following a path that Florida established, allowing the sale of flower, and doubling the purchase amount.

After Florida established the same guidelines, the state saw a boom in medical marijuana applications and an immediate uptick in sales statewide.
"Patients have long been asking for whole flower as a preferred, consistent, reliable and affordable solution to provide the medicine, and they’ve been asking for this for a long time, and we’re thrilled to be able to support our patients with this change," said Mike Malee, with Matter.
