Gillibrand in Cohoes to discuss slashing prescription drug prices

United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was in Cohoes Friday morning at Marra’s Pharmacy.

She was there to talk about her policy package that would slash prescription drug prices.

It’s a five-step plan to help bring down cots.

Some of those steps includes creating the Medicare Cost Assistance Program to help provide assistance with Medicare Part A and B premiums, as well as legislation to allow patients and pharmacists and wholesalers to import safe, affordable medicine from Canada and other countries.

Gillibrand said 30% of adults say they haven’t taken their medicine as prescribed because it simply costs too much money.
