Gov. Hochul signs bills to combat sexual harassment in workplace

Gov. Hochul was in New York City Wednesday morning to sign several bills combating sexual harassment in the workplace.

"My administration has cleaned house. This is a new day in New York. As I said on the first day, that everyone has the right to a safe, secure workplace where they are valued and respected," said Hochul.

One of the bills will create a toll-free confidential hotline for complaints of workplace sexual harassment. Another closes a loophole, so now state and public employers are subject to the Human Rights Law.

Hochul added this is just the beginning, there are a series of bills dealing with workplace protections for women that are on her desk.
