Police: Officer stabbed in Albany; suspect shot
ALBANY – Police in Albany are investigating an incident that left an officer and a suspect injured Monday afternoon.
They say this all began as a domestic dispute just before noon Monday in the area of 100 Franklin Street.
While there, police realized a 54-year-old man there had outstanding warrants from past arrests. As they tried to take him into custody, police say he stabbed an officer.
Another officer then shot the suspect. Even after being shot, police say the suspect kept swinging the knife, narrowly missing an officer’s head.
