Pool chemical injuries happen every year. So what can a pool owner do to stay safe?
- Make sure the chemicals are properly stored. They should be kept in a cool, dry space, away from anything flammable. Open containers where it’s ventilated. You don’t want to risk inhaling toxic fumes.
- Don’t forget to check your pool chemical levels. Dirty water can cause skin rashes and other infections.
- Always remember to pour powder right into the pool water. If the opposite is done, it can cause a dangerous reaction called "wetting.” That can cause combustibility.
