Governor Phil Scott (R-Vermont) outlined his legislative priorities in his State of the State address Wednesday.
He said while navigating out of the pandemic remains a top issue, the state cannot let the virus derail it from addressing what he sees as its fundamental challenges: the need for more people and more workers.
He said the pandemic has made the workforce shortage problem much, much worse.
He wants a greater focus on trades training and said it’s time to end the stigma around Career and Technical Education. He plans to put forth a tax relief package and more investments in affordable housing, among other things.
