Troy community leaders hope youth basketball will help curb violence

TROY – Pastors and community leaders gathered at the 7th Avenue Park in Troy Tuesday evening to pray to keep youth safe from violence.

It’s the start of the Face Basketball Summer League.

Every Tuesday and Thursday staring at 4:30, kids can come to the park to play basketball. The league is free for the youth.

The whole goal is to put something together for the youth to keep them out of trouble.

Organizers of the league are hoping to sign up more kids as the summer goes on.
