Vermont health officials are reminding Vermonters that pandemic restrictions are still in place.
State health experts say younger people are driving the recent uptick in cases.
The state recorded a single-day record of 251 new infections last Friday and a majority were people under the age of 30.
“It’s more important than ever, to recommit to the public health guidance we have in place,” said Gov. Phil Scott.
“Wanting the pandemic to be over and it actually being over are not the same thing,” Vermont Health Commissioner Dr. Mark Levine added.
Dr. Levine added out-of-state trips could also be contributing to the new cases. There is still a travel advisory in place in the Green Mountain State.
